Taylor Walters, M4
Taylor is a fourth-year medical student at Virginia Commonwealth University, having previously completed her Bachelor of Science at Christopher Newport University and Master of Public Health at the University of Virginia. Prior to medical school Taylor worked for the International Rescue Committee in Charlottesville and Richmond, helping newly arrived refugee families navigate the healthcare system. Through her time at the IRC she also took on the role of case manager for foreign national victims of human trafficking, which brought her to first attend the Symposium in 2020. Taylor is currently applying for Pediatric residency programs and hopes to return to working with refugee and immigrant populations in her future career.
