Sarah Poirier is a current 4th year medical student at Virginia Commonwealth University School of Medicine. She graduated from Marquette University in Milwaukee, Wisconsin with a degree in Biomedical Sciences and Spanish. She is pursuing a residency position in Orthopaedic Surgery.
She currently serves as the research chair in VCU's Students Fighting Human Trafficking (SFHT) interest group and is working to create and implement curricula aimed at identifying and assisting victims of human trafficking for health care providers.
