"Women Leading Healthy Change (WLHC)," is a student-run program developed by Dr. Rachel Robitz while she was in medical school at the University of Cincinnati (2009 - 2012). WLHC continues to serve women in Cincinnati; has since expanded to Sacramento, CA; and will soon be launching in Richmond, Virginia, under the leadership of 4th-year medical students @ VCU.
WLHC consists of a 10- week curriculum where medical students, along with women who are recovering from commercial sexual exploitation and trafficking, co-lead collaborative classes on various topics in women's health and mental health. VCU medical students will collaborate with Bailey Hilliard, MSW, Director of Programs @ The Chesterfield County Jail, to jumpstart the program at this location and tailor health topics that are most relevant and meaningful to women in this community.
