Julie Russo, through her MPH program, took an abstract concept of a community need and successfully created a tangible deliverable constructed with the Stages of Change theoretical framework. This novel program for the friends and family of human trafficking survivors will be piloted in the Fall of 2022 by ImPACT Virginia and Anti-Trafficking International (ATI), under the direction of Stacie Lefeavers, PhD Candidate at VCU. This program will be the first of its kind in the state of Virginia.
Emma Marie, program consultant and co-survivor, will discuss how this program can help co-survivors cope with the overwhelming consequences of human trafficking victimization including stigma/traumatization, secondary trauma, isolation, and the lack of trauma-informed care and resources in the community.
