Where do we go from here?



Melissa McMenemy, Statewide Facilitator Office of Attorney General Mark R. Herring As the Statewide Facilitator in the Office of Attorney General Mark Herring, Melissa McMenemy coordinates the Violence Against Women Act Services, Training, Officers, Prosecution (V-STOP) grant program, the Enhanced Collaborative Model Human Trafficking grant program, and Virginia’s Address Confidentiality Program for victims of domestic violence, stalking, sexual violence, and human trafficking. Through the V-STOP grant program, Melissa is responsible for coordinating regional and statewide trainings pertaining to investigating and prosecuting domestic violence, sexual violence, and stalking cases, including a focus on underserved populations and victims of human trafficking. Additionally, she develops resource materials for victims, law enforcement, and service providers and is responsible for producing the Annual Report on Domestic and Sexual Violence in Virginia each year for presentation to the General Assembly Prior to joining the Office of the Attorney General in 2012, Melissa worked with victims of crime in various capacities including as a domestic violence crisis worker inside a local police department, a legal advocate in the courts, a victim/witness advocate, and a child protective services worker. She has been trained as a child forensic interviewer and has completed the Office for Victims of Crime National Victim Assistance Academy.
