Brenna Cook, M4
I am a fourth year medical student at Virginia Commonwealth University. Before starting medical school, I graduated from Marymount University in 2018 with a bachelor's degree in biochemistry. I have been involved in Students Fighting Human Trafficking (SFHT) since my first year of medical school. Through SFHT, I’ve had the opportunity to develop trauma informed care curriculum for medical students and other health professionals interacting with patients with a history of trauma. In addition to my involvement in developing trauma informed care curriculum, I have been involved in research with VCU’s MOTIVATE clinic, which provides care to women with substance use disorder. Through my experiences, I have found my passion for women’s health and I am currently applying for OB/GYN residency. I hope to continue working with vulnerable populations as an OB/GYN and am excited for patient advocacy and education to be at the forefront of my career.
