Alexia Brown, BS, MPA
Alexia Brown is a recent graduate of the L. Douglas Wilder School of Government and Public Affairs MPA Program where she was selected as the commencement speaker for her graduating class. She earned her Bachelors of Urban Psychology with a minor is Sociology from VCU in the spring of 2021. During her time as a student with VCU, she interned under a grant under OJJDP aimed at Disrupting Criminalization in Education with a focus on BIPOC females and their K-12th grade school experiences. This lead to her collaboration with the Action Alliance Sexual and Domestic Violence Prevention as a “Do You” facilitator with input for training practices for a trauma informed approach with system involved females. She is currently employed with the Wilder School’s Survey and Evaluation Research Lab where she is focusing on a grant received by the City of Richmond aimed at reducing gun violence among youth who are victims or at risk of being involved in gun violence. Alexia is a prior employee of Bon Air Juvenile Correctional Facility which was the catalyst for her desire to seek higher education. She desires to promote Diversity, Equity, Inclusion, and Justice for All man humans with a special focus on the Youth! She is looking forward to being a part of the change We All Need to See!
